We can create whatever type of fishing charter you choose. Captain Tom’s preference is light tackle fishing using live bait. On a full day fishing charter, Captain Tom can take you out for several different types of fishing, targeting several species. Listed below are some of your options.
Reef fishing is fun for the whole family. Captain Tom can take you out on the reef to catch delicious Yellowtail Snapper that the whole family can catch. Sunken boats and airplanes offshore of the reef provide homes for larger fish such as Amberjack, Full grown Mutton Snappers that can reach over 20lbs as well as large Grouper, Permit, African Pompano and occasionally Kingfish, Wahoo and Sailfish. This type of fishing involves dropping baits down to the bottom and drifting over the wreck. Smaller fish such as Vermilion Snapper can also can be caught on the wrecks and provide some delicious table fare.
Offshore fishing is the perfect style of fishing for those seeking exciting deep sea action. Captain Tom can take you out to the famous Marathon Hump to target delicious Blackfin Tuna. He can also take you offshore to look for other highly sought after species such as Dolphin-fish (Mahi-Mahi), Sailfish, Swordfish, Wahoo and Marlin.

“It was a hot flat day offshore Marathon with not much happening but Captain Tom new what to do. I was being treated to a fathers day fishing trip by my son and daughter, Captain Tom worked his butt off for us and we came into the dock with 10 dolphin, 10 tuna, a barracuda and a skipjack. We blew away all of the other fishing boats and we owe it all to Captain Tom’s expertise. The captains boat was impeccably clean and up to date, all the rods and reels were in perfect condition. Captain Tom kept us fishing and reeling in fish all day, not to mention cleaning our catch and bagging our fish and he’s a nice guy too. The only Charter I use in the Keys.”

“My wife and I came down the the Keys for a week. We decided that we wanted to take a day to go on a fishing charter. We never had done this before, but we were determined. We couldn’t have found a better charter captain than Captain Tom of the Run & Gun.
Captain Tom exceeded our expectations on numerous levels. He definitely knew where the fish were and provided an education on how to catch them. We pretty much filled our limit on Yellowtail and caught a nice Black Grouper (keeper). He was a wealth of information that made us better at fishing.
Captain Tom was a lot of fun and we definitely will look him up on our next trip to the Florida Keys. I highly recommend Captain Tom to be your charter captain.”
